Health Assessment 2014-2015

The Government Home for Boys is designed to serve two purposes: the Observation home and the Children’s home.

 

The Observation Home is designed to hold children found to have committed offences are being admitted in the observation homes through Juvenile Justice Boards.  According to the revised Act, Children in conflict with law (Children who have committed offence) shall alone be admitted in Observation Homes.  The jurisdiction of this Observation Home is Chennai, Kancheepuram, Vellore and Tiruvallur.  The home is sanctioned to support up to 100 children.

 

The Children’s Home, under the provisions of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2000,  is functioning to provide care, training, education and vocational education to the children, sent by Child Welfare Committees.

Government Sanctioned in compliance with JJ Act 2000 - Section 8.
