Three Steps to Celebrating Self-Worth

Hope Torch : Cover Story

Are you a person who understands your self-worth, understands where it comes from, and understands how powerful it can be?

If you are…
Give yourself a pat on your shoulder and say,
“(your name), you are worth it. There is no one more worth it than you.”

If you are not…
Please look in the mirror and tell yourself, ” (your name) you are beautifully and wonderfully created, a masterpiece…!” Repeat this everyday as you wake up, when you go to sleep, anytime during the day, and as many times as it takes for you to believe it. 🙂

The truth is you are. You can’t be compromised. Out of billions, there is only one of you. You are not an accident. More importantly, you got chosen.

Yes….You. Have. Worth.

What is it about this day? This April 14th? What makes it unique?

On April 14th, we want to celebrate self-worth. For that, here are three things you need to start doing:

Create a Positive Culture

We bring in a lot of stress, depression, tension, anxiety in our day-to-day lives. We don’t even realize how much it costs us. I wish I could simply say that you are in control of your happiness, but you would never believe me.

It is difficult to choose to live self-worth out. It can’t be learned. It can’t be taught. It must be felt. It must be experienced.

That’s why, on April 14th. We hope to create a culture. A culture of positive actions.

Encourage someone to be the best version of themselves that they can be. Don’t be sarcastic. They may not believe you, but you must believe in them.

Thank someone for bringing out the best in you. The best was always there. They helped you realize it.

On this day, April 14th, we will let someone feel our positive action. We will help build a self-worth culture.

Connect with People

Busy, busy, busy…that is the first excuse, the first lie we tell ourselves.

When was the last time you passed on a word of encouragement or made a kind gesture to someone!? My guess, it’s been sometime.

All it takes is a smile, a genuine wish “Good day”, a meaningful conversation. Do we choose to make time for each other?

True… We are busy. We don’t have a choice, right?

Wrong! We always have a choice. Many of us choose the manic pursuit of worth and miss out on moments of joy and happiness. This is not a life of self-worth.

On this day, April 14th, we change that. We set aside our time and ourselves for any person or group. We let them know we care for them.

Build a Legacy of Impact

Your self-worth – 100% your very own identity irrespective of experience, race, gender, caste, etc… – is something which deserves to be celebrated.

Your inherent uniqueness gives you the ability to impact and make a difference in this generation and the next.

On this day, April 14th. We have an impact. We make a difference. Here’s to your legacy.

At Hope Torch, we empower children to be the best version of themselves, to discover their self-worth. The #selfworthpostcard campaign launches a movement of self-worth. It is an extension of ourselves and our vision at Hope Torch.

To get the ball rolling, we had our Hope Torch Family mail over 500 handwritten #SelfWorthPostcards to their contacts. Now, it is your turn to join.

On April 14th 2018, Create, Connect, and Build a Legacy of self-worth for someone and with someone.
